Our time as come.

If Ben & Jerry’s is in on the trend, you better believe the rest of the world is catching up: Spain is no exception.

The places listed above have anywhere from 2 to a complete menu of vegan ice creams, and the flavors are constantly changing which is why I didn’t recommend any specifics.

My personal recommendations:

Freedom Cakes: they are an amazingly talented vegan bakery in Madrid and you and I can both agree that ice cream tastes better with cake… which they have plenty of. I’d also recommend the brownie with ice cream from Freedom Cakes. They’re one of the only places to enjoy vegan soft-serve in Madrid!

Malvy’s Shakes: Do you like Instagram? Do you like sharing food photos on Instagram? Malvy’s is the originator of the (Spanish-version) crazy shake! You know the ones with a tower of cookies, cream, a slice of cake, 6 Oreos and a cherry all balancing on top of one another? Yeah, we have that in Madrid too now. Thanks, America.

Lolo Polos: No added coloring. No artificial flavoring. Ice+ fresh fruit, herbs and lots of love. I love the feeling you get when you look like you’re adulting, but in your mind you’re back in your youth, sitting on the curb eating a bomb pop… That’s how Lolo Polos makes me feel. So while I may have ordered a Lemon Rosemary Polo, I still feel like a kid again, you know, as it’s on a stick.

Ahh, the power of ice cream. It’s magical, isn’t it?
