I stopped blogging 3 years ago, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t written. I have always written professionally. And maybe that’s the problem.
When your words always need to make a point—reach a specific person, make them do a specific thing, and achieve a specific goal—it can sorta, well, suck the joy out of it all.
A KPI does not a yap make, if you get what I’m saying. Writing for pleasure felt superfluous, a time-wasting dilly-dally of the highest order.
I tried to find ways to scratch the itch, though, because my love of writing never actually went away. Let’s be real. Then, I found myself on LinkedIn… which, cool, great, but when you’re always trying to teach or establish yourself, how much fun is it really? Truly? * looks around the proverbial room *
I’ve worked in SEO. I’ve led global content teams. I’ve written masterclasses on AEO / GEO. I’ve managed social media platforms in the hundreds of thousands. And as much as I enjoy it, it’s simply not enough.
So, I’m back from my hiatus. What can you expect? Type A chaos, verbal side quests, and no AI talk. If you want to learn about LLMs, I’ll meet you on the briefcase app, not here.
