Black + Brown Micro-Influencers to Follow

There’s a lot of trash content on Instagram. Luckily these influencers are just the opposite!

What is an Instagram Influencer?

Technically, everyone who interacts with other people is an influencer in that their actions, words, and style have an impact—whether big or small— on others. I consider an Instagram influencer as someone who is paid to, or uses, products to share with others. They promote cities and places they’ve visited, have a product to sell, or a lifestyle they want to promote. They need to be seen, and interact with others to support their business.
I love the influencers below because their message is aligned with positivity, growth, fun, and they come across as very genuine.

So, what’s a micro-influencer?

These are accounts which have less than 10k followers. Why is it important to follow and support them? Because the algorithm is trash, and everyone knows it. Having a lot of followers doesn’t mean that your content is good. It could just as easily mean that you have more time to post, or that you have a team working for you, or that you invest money in ads.
Remember: More doesn’t automatically mean better.

“Just because you have a ton of followers, doesn’t mean your content is good... it just means you have a ton of followers.”
